Motorcycle drivers with loud pipes do mods to their exhaust pipes to be louder because they enjoy the fact that it annoy and cause stress to other people."loud pipes save lives" is just an excuse, there absolutely no evidence that it saves life most of the sound propagates behind the bike and modern cars have good sound proofing so car drivers hear the bike when the bike is already past them.

While your probably partially right, it is also true that you get noticed way easier the louder your bike is, this is also the reason most motorcyclists have their high beams on. Car drivers don't notice bikes as easily as they do other cars and trucks. So anything that makes them get noticed easier is safer, that's why I wear a high vis vest. Stay mad
