half of americans wont post therehttps://blog.incogni.com/digital-fatigue-and-burnout/Study concludes that there's been a significant shift in public attitudes toward social media," reports PCMag. "Where it was once fun and relaxing, it's now grim dark..."As the chart shows, there's also a clear correlation with age. A full 60% of Gen Z respondents feel the pain of maintaining a social presence. Perhaps they have a niggling hope that they might still be discovered as an influencer? Those of us in the Boomer category are clearly more relaxed about it, with just 33% saying that maintaining a social presence feels like work. The survey quizzed respondents about how they feel when they don't keep up with checking their socials and, by extension, how they'd feel if they just plain quit. They were given choices, both positive (peace, relaxation, and relief) and negative (anxiety, fear of missing out, and discomfort).Overall, positive reactions held slightly greater sway, with an average of about 21% compared with 19% for negative reactions. The Gen Y contingent accentuated that split, with 25% positive and 21% negative, while Gen X went even further, with 20% positive and just 13% negative. But the Gen Z group flipped the results, identifying 27% negative and 26% positive reactions to going without social media. There's another force pushing folks away from the socials: increasing politicization. Of the survey's respondents, 44% agreed that political content is driving people away from social media, and only 20% disagreed. Among Gen Z respondents, the impetus was stronger: 48% agreed, and just 13% disagreed. These negative feelings associated with politics only serve to highlight the positive reactions to deleting your social media. Are you posting less on social media than you did five years ago, and are you being more selective about who can see what you post? Then you're with the majority.
>>538895341it annoys me if people think that being rejected by the inconsequential Mexican bitch at the view bothers me. Just to reiterate:To me, its about equality under the law and seeing you all as more than just sheep to be feed, fleeced and herded. its all so that I don't turn into the people who have gotten us into this mess.>who the fuck do you think yo are.>you think we fucking need you you were all a bunch of ignorant sluts before I got here. and if I leave that is all you will ever be.
Hey, channer... do you suffer from digital fatigue and burnout?
>>538896036I can't find it.thought still stands tho. I too I'm tired of this shit. doesn't mean I'm going to let you get your way.... if I can help it.
>>538896104>Hey, channer... do you suffer from digital fatigue and burnout?I think we are all burnt out form each other.but again there is a lot at stake here.
>>538896104hey interloper.no,not digital fatigue.but yes the content it brings.seeing so many atrocities and civilizational decay in real time isn't good for any male brain. not to mention the absolute total lack of a fighting alternative that leads to a feeling of isolation and powerlessness
I don't know where people are going, but the internet is starting to feel more and more dead and most of the slack is getting picked up by poojeets using AI.
>>538895341It's weird because apparently dead internet theory is a white supremacist conspiracy theory, yet we all look around and see the modern internet as a ghost town compared to what it once was. It is SO DIFFERENT. Yes people still use it, but go to any website where you can make comments and you can feel the drastically reduced amount of comments. It feels 90 percent less lively from it's peak. Where did all the people go? Why are we not allowed to talk about this?
It's controlled by bots, controlled by people with money for bot farms. There's currently a psyop, probably designed to suppress the Black vote, with a bunch of Whitey-bad bullshit targeted at Black people online. Blacks are largely just as dumb as MAGAs, so they'll likely fall for it.
>>538899109>It feels 90 percent less lively from it's peak. Where did all the people go?The only reasonable explanation is that the surface level internet has condensed almost completely around Twitter while more niche communities have retreated to circlejerky Discords. Even 4chan is way down. Boards like /v/ and /tv/ have people keep threads alive for like 3 days which I haven't seen since the early 2010s, it used to be impossible because you stepped away for 15 minutes and it would be on page 20.
>>538896104I have an inactive Instagram and yeah, I'm fatigued. years ago I bought a dslr and posted some of best pics when I felt alive. Now it feels hopeless to post on Instagram and I feel like I visibly look like shit.
