I was a college professor for a bit and I can tell you that education is fake and gay past high school. It's literally just a four year working vacation where professors give you busy work so they can do real research. It's literally impossible to fail out of 90% of colleges unless you just don't show up. It's a scam at this point

The war on higher education is extremely obvious, they're precisely the places for people to actually learn about the world and American conservatism runs on ignorance and isolation. By and large it's a huge filter and a giant thorn on their side.

And as someone who has been a student at a community college and a proper moderately selective big-boy university there is a huge difference between community college and an actual university. There is also a difference between what classes you are teaching. Any 1000 level intro class like what you were most likely teaching is a free A if you show up. But free A's are rare the second you get to the 2000's and non-existent beyond that. Pretending it's a joke is a joke.

>>538906890Adjuncts don't just teach intro classes. I did teach a few, but I actually taught a few classes that had pre recs. It was also at a major university, not a community college. I find community college professors actually care about their students. R1 and R2 universities care more about research than teaching, but allegedly they're "better." I'll give a little information about myself and admit it was the social sciences. The students were retarded. They didn't remember anything from the previously required classes and it was frustrating to have to spend time reteaching it. I'll add in other issues >Constantly waiting until the last minute >Just not doing assignments then wanting extra credit >Not showing up for class >Lying about showing up for class >Literally having their parents call me to fix their grades >Not knowing the basics past the intro class >Refusing to follow instructions >Refusing to read the textbook >Not showing up for the office hours then bitching about not knowing the material >Constant cheating, just constantly (and it's only gotten worse with AI) I had students not get the free points question. I always added one free question to every test to inflate my grades and I had students miss it. All that being said, even some of the masters programs now are dogshit. I have friends who stayed in academia and are full on regular professors, and they complain about the quality of students coming in.
