It also doesn't help that monke and the oligarchs bled the country dry for their yachts instead of investing in the military, technological progress, improving the citizens living standards etc. All of their military equipment is stuck in the 1980's which was already behind what America had at the time and they're trying to fight a war against modern weapons and doctrines. Their zergrush tactics going all the way back to the Mongol hordes isn't very effective in the age of drones. And then their economy is absolutely fucked for the next decade at least.
