Historically the Russians killed dissident with agents that were plausibly deniable in their origin such as ricin, a plant toxin, and polonium, a radioactive element. Why then, did they suddenly use novichok? An agent that is very specifically of Russian origin and why did they do it in Wiltshire, near to where the UK's military research labs are based? One can only assume the latter was a glow op to frame Russia and give casus belli to put sanctions on them. Bearing in mind this was before the Ukraine war.
