I worked at a call center for an insurance company for over 23 years, and a month ago nearly everyone who worked in this department was laid off indefinitely, myself included. I've sent thousands of applications a week to every other branch of this company nationwide along with competing companies, and have been completely ghosted. I genuinely don't understand what's going on. Are they listing fake job postings or is there just so much competition for these postings that they aren't contacting me? It shouldn't be this hard to get a job at another branch. What the hell is going on??

I saw all this coming a decade ago and about five years ago made a massive lifestyle and career shift that basically completely uprooted me. That was fine and all. But I don't have any issues with job security from jeets or ai. White man, you need to think long and hard about where the world is heading. It cannot be stopped yet. You'll have to live through it so make the changes needed now so you can survive it all.You're likely going to need to make a big career change.
