BREAKING: Two prominent figures in Ukraine's defense establishment have announced their departures.

Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, one of Ukraine's leading experts on drones, communications, and electronic warfare, said he has stepped down as an adviser to Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

"My mood is terrible. But I will not abandon my path. I will continue defending the country and helping my fellow soldiers," Beskrestnov wrote.

Shortly afterward, Deputy Air Force Commander Pavlo Yelizarov also announced his resignation from the Armed Forces, saying his decision was tied to Fedorov's removal.

"I believe this is a great harm to the country's defense capability," Yelizarov said.

In the future, someday.

I find it suspicious how anyone who was important enough to be at that drone factory suddenly resigned.

Just Zelensky forcing every potential critic to resign like he did with Zaluzhny.

>Fedorov destroys Russian refineries
>Zelensky fires him

I guess it's true that Zelensky is a Russian agent

The general consensus among OSINT accounts is that the defence minister in leaving was a staunch supporter of drone warfare while the new minister+Zelensky are much more supportive of the boots on the ground approach. Which means more press gangs and so on.

Makes sense, drones are funny for destroying infrastructure but you're not actually securing any long term strategic goals with them.
Conversely, boots on the ground can secure territory but they're also susceptible to artillery stalemates unless you really want to get some cool headlines at the low cost of 4 out of 5 of your troops.

Indeed. But you also have to take into account the populace's willingness to fight and to sustain human losses. There was a recent short on the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty YouTube channel in which an entire town in western Ukraine stood up against a press gang.

The ethnic Russian population doesn't feel the effects of casualties as much because many of those being sent to fight are members of ethnic minorities from remote podunk eastern regions.

Russians leadership has learnt its lessons from Checnhya, no more crying Russian mothers on public TV.
