The british had declared that the colonists no longer had a right to defend themselves, and in a place like america with savages and wildlife that's suicidal. Same thing now, only with blacks and imported criminals. So I interpret the 2a to be more about self defense than 'rising up against tyranny', but part of that is just being realistic. They have drones and flock cameras everywhere, the time to have an armed rebellion has come and gone. Overthrowing a modern state would require a string of high profile assassinations and then a military coup followed by seizure of assets, not just a bunch of guys with muskets. The best any of us can hope for is getting our guys in democratically or china attacking the power grid leading to a crisis.
