Belgium pays you to ride a bicycle to work.
>>539063582Give me the deets on thisIm interested
I'd be happy with just being paid to work desu
>>539063655being paid not to work beats whatever you are trying to do
>>539063646You submit a route you will bike to work on, the government approves it. Then they pay you something like ~40 cents per kilometer -- both ways, mind you.So you have all of these people in Belgium riding high-end e-bikes essentially for free.
bicycling subsidies come from the employer if they join the programme, and they in turn can get gov benefitsmaximum 37 cents / kilometremaximum € 3690 per yearthere is also cheap public transport picrel
>>539063582I skipped so much school the state started paying me $7/h just to get up and go, I still didn't go it was waaaay too early in the morning fren.
>>539063582https://www.mbrella.eu/blog/bike-allowance-belgiumLink for you. It's an interesting and useful thing.
Employers pay wagies for all kinds of weird things because of our tax system2000/month before tax = 2500 after tax (government gives you 500 extra)2500/month before tax = 2500 after tax3000/month before tax = 2550 after tax3500/month before tax = 2600 after tax4000/month before tax = 2650 after taxSo if you work your way up to make double, your after tax income increases by basically a netflix subcription. The result is nobody gives a shit and works part time. Employers are desperate to find ways to motivate workers but they cant use money because workers dont want money. The after tax income gap between a refugee on benefits, a part time cleaning lady and a brain surgeon is €200/month, corporations have to find funny alternative ways to pay workers
>>539063802yes and the e-bike is typically part of your monthly earnings too. the way our tax system works basically making more money is impossible. So when people get a raise they say : no thanks give me fridays off instead. Then years later they refuse another raise and say give me thursdays off too. Then when they are 40, they still dont want a raise, because making money is against the law here, there is a soft cap at €2500/month. So then when people are 40 and work 3 days a week, everyone does, they start demanding shit instead of a raise. Like bicycles, and holidays, company cars, vouchers, all kinds of vouchers, we got vouchers for groceries, vouchers for a cleaning lady. Just anything you can think of *except* money because making more than €2500 is impossible anyway. If you see a succesful belgian, he makes €2500/month, never more, but he may receive a bizarre collection of "stuff" from his employer, its just never money.
>>539063582ebikes are for faggots.
>>539067016In a way it makes sense, since ultimately you want the stuff that money purchases and not necessarily the money itself. But obviously having the money gives a greater degree of freedom over exactly what stuff you would choose.
>>539063582Belgium isn't even a real country. There's no such thing as a Belgian person or Belgian language. It's a fake country created by the British as a buffer zone filled with Flemish people who speak Dutch, Walloons who speak French, with a German king.
>>539063582I get paid to drive my pickup.
>>539066687are belgians okay with it?
>>539063717NEETs are not paid not to work. This is not the purpose of the pay. They just don't work and get paid anyway.
>>539066687That's borderline socialism.
>>539063582All while the Belgium jews get all the petrol, and laugh in the face of the goy
>>539063802Bro, no way! I could be getting $2.64 per day?
>>539063802You get the same with a car in the Netherlands, bike too. I assume Belgium is the same, this is not new afaik
>>539067928assuming an average of 22 working days, that would be $58/mo.
>>539067604Not really, it depends, if you are unmotivated, which the majority of peope are, it is kinda fun because you can do 20 hours a week as a barista and make 95% as much as a brain surgeon. Its obviously awful if you are motivated to make money but that motivation is slowly beaten out of everyone overtime, it is the belgian way. Big shot CEOs find ways around it by setting up a holding in luxembourg or switzerland, sending invoices for their work from the swiss holding and paying themselves a wage in switzerland. Comes with the added benefit of being able to park wherever they want and drive as fast as they want because swiss plates = they'll never get a ticket.
>>539067764it is, theres like studies on it here, promotieval and parttimeval.>the promotion trap>the part time trapBasically everyone works their way up to have their hours reduced, not to make more money, because income is soft capped at 2500/month
Most big companies and developed nations have programs like that.
>>539067266this system isnt the result of it making sense, its just taxes are so extreme people dont want a raise anymore, not in the traditional sense. Tax here is 50% federal income tax + 20.5% social security income tax + 8% regional income tax.>inb4 theres bracketsyeah the numbers I just listed are for peasant 35K/year bracket. So everyone under I'd say 50 said>ok, this is retarded, pay me in vouchers, bicycles, time off and holidays instead of eurosGovernment cant take 80% off a bycicle
>>539066687>>539068244nice communist uravnilovka, the flattening of wagesleads to people not giving a fuck and doing the bare minimum, followed by collapse oldtime communist era saying:>whether you sit or whether you stand, either way you make a grand
>>539070790yes, wages here are flattened to such a comical extent when you're 18 kids are like :Do I want to be a part-time barista at starbucks? Or an engineer? Who gives a shit, if I want to make more than €2500 a month I have to leave the country. But it is liberating in a strange way, it doesnt matter what we study, what job we do, everyone makes thesame anyways give or take €100. Like if you drop out of school the only difference between you and someone who finished college is he can say he finished college, he wont make more than you, nobody does, kek
I like how the american was like>woah belgians get paid to ride a bicycleAnd then found out yes, yes we do, because we dont get paid currency, for work. We get the fucking bicycle instead of you know, money?
>>539067372They still make the best ale in the world.
