You may be able to become mostly self-sufficient or at the very least insulated against short-term chaos, but...why? You'll be all alone out there, missing out on all the most vital parts of life. There is literally only one paved road into my county and I live down a private one way dirt road with multiple choke points. A band of niggers form 50 miles away, closest city, would need to pass by no less than 5 choke points to reach my front door and I have multiple DFP's on my property rated to take up to 50BMG machine gun fire and still provide cover for the people behind it. You'd need like 3000 niggers bayonet charging my hill to even have a hope and then....well I won't give away all my secrets. The only other way to my place is overland humping thorough thick forest and heavily armed farms and ranches, half wild farm dogs, puma, and endless things to kill you on the 15-25 mile march you have to make to avoid the highway choke points.
