Most of that sub by volume is cucumbers, onions and tomatoes. Cold cuts are used very sparingly. I'd toss the sugar water and the chips (very tiny amount btw). You can get at least 4 large sandwiches out of that oven roasted turkey. You dont buy condiments every time you buy the rest of the items. So homemade IS cheaper.
>>

>They don't get the family size variety pack
It will still make several sandwiches. Poors just can't into math and think the upfront cost is robbery while the single serving is a steal.
Also, brown sugar ham is god tier. You can't get that at Shitway.
>>
>>539150843
I refuse to believe the stuff on the right costs that much.
I imagine it'd cost:
>cheese: £3
>tomato: 40p
>onion half: 25p
>mayonnaise: you don't need that much holy shit it's like 10p the amount you need
>meat: £3
>bread: £1.30
>lettuce: 80p
>mustard: as with mayonnaise, maybe 10p
total:
£8.95, and you can get maybe 3 sandwiches minimum out of that, probably 4 or 5
>>
>>539150843
1. That image is AI generated. You can tell because the cheese label is overlapping the tomato.
2. As long as you have enough ingredients to make 3 sandwiches, it will be worth the cost. You aren't using an entire jar of mayo or an entire head of lettuce on one sandwich.
3. The ingredients on the right are likely higher quality. None of the ingredients on the left are likely going to be from national name brands.
Have fun.

>>
>>539151219
The bread, however, would not be classified as actual bread outside the US. Plus Hellmans is seed oil poison. The meat is likely full of antibiotics and growth hormones and the vegetables have a full dose of Roundup and various pesticides. We're doomed.
>>
>>539151219
Realistically it's like 4 sandwiches factoring in 4 thin slice to make that thicker 6 inch which is 9.64, not much margin and the chips and drink reduce margin further so OP is not that far off.

Then factor in it's not really fresh anymore at the 4th sandwich that week.

You will have mayo and mustard left over so there's that. Over time mayo and mustard overages probably lose to a slight chips and drink advantages on the left however.

However there are gas and time costs for 4 trips to the subway on left also and that probably keeps right slightly ahead.

>t. person who is actually good with money, time and resources even though I waste it on 4chan

TL;DR you're still better off financially eating at home, but the margins are pretty jewed out.
>>
>>539150843
I didded the calculations. The whole DIY sandwich set is going to cost about 20 euros here.

The Sub alone would cost €5. So I think it makes more sense to buy the Sub unless you want Subs for multiple people and might as well make them yourself. If you'd only make them for yourself, you're saving so little money in the process it's not worth it to eat the same meal multiple times in a row. If I had to penny pinch, I'd rather save the difference by fasting.
>>
>>539152336
I made an error in the bread price it should be $0.40

also the cheese slices are the cost per half pound of cheese from the deli, not that overpriced bag of sargento cheese.

I'm tired of this myth.
It originates from Ireland, in particular, declaring thst Subway's bread, in particular, qualifies as cake for tax purposes. Chinese whispers made the whole story something it was not.

>The meat is likely full of antibiotics and growth hormones
Poultry and pork are not given hormones. And antibiotics are for treatment only.

>vegetables have a full dose of Roundup and various pesticides
Most crops aren't Roundup Ready.

Everything made of wheat is poisoned with artificial folic acid by government mandate.
Artificial folic acid gives you cancer, especially prostate cancer.
>>
calories in vs calories out is all that matters
>>
>>539154654
Folic acid is actually the only form of folate that is shown to prevent some weird spinal deformity in infants. Some people don't metabolize it properly which is the result of the problems schizos associate with it.
Funny enough, white people rarely lack the ability to metabolize it. It's mostly a brown people problem. If you have a problem with folic acid then you're not white.

Ok… Just buy a few different kinds of meat at the same time, for like $10-15 more, get even more sandwiches out of it, and switch out, day by day… The price-to-sandwich yield is still better than if you ate Subway everyday… The math is very, very simple…
>>
>>539154106
Even supposing your "math" is correct (you're retarded), it's the difference between investing in yourself vs outsourcing.
When Subarus started eclipsing Fords as a reliable car, do you think that just magically happened overnight? Do you think the Japanese would have been better off just buying Ford forever, because building your own factories is expensive?
>>
>>539151535
I've eaten the same breakfast for years
>>
>>539150843
Why is food such a problem for people. Just Fkn buy a full cow and freeze the meat. That’s all the meat for the year. You got steaks, ground beef, stewing beef, briskets, roasts and sausage. You can eat 1 pound of meat a day with your dinner and for breakfast have eggs, bacon and toast. Snacks throughout the day can be fruit like oranges, apples, nuts, yogurt, granola and cheese.

There that’s a almost perfect diet and only costs like $5-8k a year depending how much you eat

1lb extra lean ground beef = $10
2 boxes of noodles (4 pack) =$10
1 lb of chicken =$15
Brats =$12
Buns = $5.00
Banana organic = $10
Butter =$10
Olive oil =$20
2 dozen eggs = $12
2 gallons of milk =$15
A jar of peanut butter =$5

Total = $124 CAD

That’s what it would ~ cost in Canada

Ground beef is done in 1 meal
Chicken is done in 1 meal
Eggs are done in 6 meals
Milk is done in 8 days (1 litre milk a day)
Banana, peanut butter, buns done in a week of snacks and lunches
Brats done in 1 meal
Olive oil and butter done in a few weeks of cooking

Overall that food only last 5 days of normal eating for a single man
