But the Nazis had the foolish mission statement of taking over all of Europe, which meant that they didn't slow down to consolidate power in their recently taken territory, they were in too much of a rush so they pivoted to the next expansion immediately. This both stretched their army thin by always increasing their war front in size AND having to occupy the territory they had already taken, but without the time to indoctrinate and culturally assimilate the populace of conquered territory to bolster their army with fresh loyal recruits. They were essentially always going to run into a manpower problem as they stretched themselves thinner and thinner until something gave way.
