Number of billionaires in China increased rapidly in recent decades but so did the living standards of the average Chinese. A healthy economy of certain size will produce some billionaires and they're not as big of a problem as financial institutions that dwarf the influence of billionaires but they got you fixated on people using your envy of their lifestyles. You could get rid of all the billionaires but not much would improve if you let money changers run your economy.
