I'd never hit my kids because I'm a patient man and my children are pretty well behaved all things considered. But some kids out there probably need to get smacked so I won't judge. For example, just today I saw a mother at the park walking around with her fat, lumbering non-verbal oaf of an autistic son who started to tard-rage on her. She gave him a slap in the face and it immediately reset the kid. This is an extreme example but I do think different temperaments require different disciplinary methods.
