Fixed my 3 ton myself 9 years ago when you used to be able to buy that shit on ebay for $5/lb. Figured out how to take the right measurements to get the charge dead on and used my automotive hoses and gauges (offset for r-22) to fill. Perfect - been running like a top ever since.
That's a $1000 service call min these days. I'll be truly fucked when it finally craps out.
