Move to Western PA. There are plenty of good trade jobs with good wages and houses are relatively cheap. You can still build wealth in the trades and real estate around Pittsburgh and State College and neither city is dog shit. Avoid Erie and Altoona though.
Pittsburgh is honestly the best kept secret in this country man. Yes, the weather is not great. No, the women aren’t as hot as in New York. No, the nightlife is not as good as Chicago. But the jobs are good, the city is very livable, it’s still pretty white, people are down to earth for the most part, it’s walkable and cyclable, PA is a nice state, the real estate is still relatively cheap. It’s the best overall bang for your buck in this country.
Oh and you can carry a gun here. So if you get the itch to move to a bigger city with more people you can just hope over to Philly and protect yourself from violent brown people.
