Germanic countries don’t need air conditioning as in the US because their location means that whenever a mass of warm air reaches them, it’s immediately blown away by the wind from the North Sea. There, a heatwave lasting longer than a few days is a miracle. It’s bloody windy there, and that wind blows from there to Poland, driving the heat eastwards towards Belarus and Ukraine as well

I do and I've always had one. I don't get the people that don't have it. It's like they want to suffer. Although to be fair, outside of weird and rare anomalous exceptions, the north is colder and comfier than the Mediterranean. They're used to enduring it. Conversely, I don't have any kind of heating. Sure, I could use the AC for heat, but I never ever do. Meanwhile, the Nordics all have heating without exception. It's just geo-positioning and climate.

Back in early 2000, my mother paid 300–400 euros for an apartment, with electricity and water included.
Now, for an apartment half the size, and without electricity included, it’s 900 euros. And this is in a neighborhood that has undergone a Great Replacement in the meantime
The minimum wage went from 1200 in 2006 to... 1400 in 2026, lol, mdr
My grandparents? Retired for 30 years, house paid off for 40, each a €3,300 pension landing in their account every month, and no particular expenses to cover. They’re almost certainly millionaires (we don't know for sure, they're 85 but won't tell us anything about it because "it's in case you abandon us and we have to go into a nursing home", even though we actually look after them, visiting every third day; so when the inheritance finally comes, we're going to get SCREWED by taxes).
My mom needed a few thousand euros to buy a replacement car because her had burned down, caused by bougnioules during a soccer match? Here, have €400, and be happy with it, right?
Boomers got it all: cheap real estate, a France not yet subjected to the Great Replacement, no Tinder, no LinkedIn, no email, no GPS tracking, no cameras everywhere, and firearms freely available to anyone of legal age.
Us? We’ll have a civil war.

See this ?
That means "for every €1,000 of public spending": Pensions cost €253—a quarter of the budget—making it the single largest expenditure item. The second biggest is healthcare, a sector heavily monopolized by Boomers; seriously, thermal spa treatments are reimbursed in France ,meaning Boomers get two weeks of free spa holidays, all to help them live longer. The cost of pensions alone in 2025 was €370 billion—over a billion a day, representing 13.5% of GDP and 41.6% of total social benefits. Pensions cost more than education, research, security, the justice system, infrastructure, defense, and debt servicing COMBINED. For people who will never work again. FOR PEOPLES WHO ARE THE MOST LIKELY TO OWN THEIR OWN HOMES (and yours too, since they rent those out as well).
On top of that, the brides—like, literally all of them—expect you to give them gift baskets at the end of the year—chocolate, champagne, foie gras—at your own expense.

It's kind of like a different kind of Walmart. My point being that working as a cashier there was seen as a bullshit job, yet these Boomers could spend their entire life doing ONLY that, and still happily retire. It's crazy.
>>
>>539221432
You can literally still do that. My sister in law has worked at walmart her entire life. She has a 401k set up with them. After she received full time benefits she gets one to two weeks paid vacation a year if she manages to save it up. I'm not saying that's amazing. But she will be able to retire. The issue with a lot of people is they don't stick with a certain company mostly because they're disagreeable and don't get along with others. My long winded point is she will be able to retire just off of that job and some investments that walmart helped her make.
>>
>>539221259
>>539221425
Why is every single fucking country like this now? Why can't I get help buying a house or affording medical expenses?

I don't know how to explain it but I just take it for granted I will never receive anything good and that random old people will receive free luxuries from the government that I can't even imagine. It's as true as gravity or the wind.
>>
>>539221432
And now, if you work a similar kind of bullshit job, you’ll be tracked by a GPS chip, algorithms will calculate your shelf-stocking efficiency rate, you’ll have to juggle five jobs at once, and you won’t even be able to afford a place to live.
Boomers had to wait to receive a reply by mail; now it's by email, you get the answer within the hour, so you're really working every single hour.
>>
>>539221525
She was a cashier her entire life?
>>
>>539221534
It's not as bad in the US though
In the US, you put money on a 401k for your own retirement
In France, you pay for boomers' retirement through extremely high taxes, knowing that you probably won't receive anything when you retire
>>
>>539221525
And yeah I see your point but you have to admit she has nowhere near the buying power as anyone in the 70s in a similar position, and I doubt there are any Zoomers who will have something similar.
>>
>>539221564
Of course not. What kind of moron can't work their way up in a walmart scenario? Like I said, if you're disagreeable and can't get along with others you'll most likely quit or they'll make it so you want to. But if you're just a normal person they'll move you up. Even I got offered to move up working at target after only 4 months but I had a degree that I wanted to finish. She told me it took 2 years for them to offer her something better. But every 5 years she kept getting higher. You would think that work is beneath you. But she wasn't an asshole. She knew what it was. And she'll be able to retire. The other managers there drive great cars. I'm not saying they're rich. But they're way better off then people bitching about having to work retail and then quit.

Me? I'm 24, why would I work? Just to have 65% of my salary stolen? To not be able to own a house ? To not be able to buy a car ? To not be able to live far away from the shitskins ? To not be able to get a wife and kids ? WHY ? just why would I do that ?

And they’ll tell you, "But I paid into my pension," even though what they actually paid for was the pensions of the old folks from back then.
An 80-year-old guy in 1950 was born in 1870; he lived through the Prussian occupation, two world wars, the Spanish flu, and the interwar period, naturally, there wouldn't be many of them left.
An 80-year-old in 2026? He was born in 1946; he experienced full employment, cheap real estate, prosperity, retirement at 55, and medical advances, and there are millions of them left.
Yet those idiots didn't have enough kids to keep the Ponzi scheme going.
Just look at the numbers: In the 60s, there were more than four workers for every retiree; now, it's 1.4 workers per retiree, if you don't count state employees.
