I voted for Trump three times, and the reason why I vote Republican despite being gay is because I believe in American democracy and institutions, and I believe our institutions are powerful enough that our rights are protected regardless of political ideology. I vote Republican for low taxes, curtailing entitlement spending, and deregulations, and I believe their anti-LGBTQ+ stuff will be struck down by Federal Courts.But Trump's willingness to bypass courts has me worried. If Trump was more respectful of court orders, he'd have more political power because a lot of people like myself like his Democratic ideas but hate his authoritarian ideas.
