Spanish society is incredible. It birthed extremely talented artists, civilizations, codes of conduct, etc. The reason why Spain lost their status after the industrial revolution is that they lack industriousness. Not in the sense of infrastructure, but their culture became decadent. It was they who started the whole idea that manual jobs were "lowly". The ideal in spanish society was to become an intellectual and work in an office and not work a dirty manual job. They placed too much emphasis on the church, while it birthed many of their positive values and doctrines, it was extremely restrictive and too spiritual. All art was related to the church, all work was for the church, all time was God's, etc. I love Spain. I wish they would have a renaissance. But the elevation of the abstract and the ideal over their worldly duties ended up causing them to stagnate. They reached a peak during the colonial era, and their comfort in that status caused them to decay. Even the current patriotic movements in Spain only aim to emulate Franco's doctrine and have a massive focus on catholicism. I don't dislike chatholicism, but the point is that they only want to go back to this romanticized version of their peak, without having learned any lessons from it. Spanish civilization never adapted. And thus, their ensuing mediocrity was spread to every place conquered. Your focus on race is a cheap substitute for reality.
