Nolan barely did any press until Tenet. He presented himself as a type of Stanley Kubrick who never spoke to any journalists. Now he's everywhere and constantly says retarded shit.

he makes stuff he thinks is good and interesting and honestly he's smarter than the odyssey so idk if he had a head injury or if something about winning an oscar and the academy enforcing that ridiculous DEI checklist shit irked him and he's fucking with people

it's a bad fucking movie, to the point it does come off like it's intentionally bad
did he make a piece of shit that nailed every DEI box on purpose? right after winning an oscar?

No. His brother wrote Memento, which is Nolan's best film. But he's always been less about writing good stories than about manipulating the audience, which is why he's now the darling director of the Hollywood establishment, because he knows how to mindfuck the public better than anyone.

The Batman line is easy to understand, if he said that, he’s stupid.

Eh, it still has to be adapted and turned into specific dialogue and stage directions, so there’s significant work that must be behind what was abridged (what scenes and characters kept in, what parts not, since it’s a long work), as well as determining how they’re gonna portray these scenes on stage, how the dialogue will be written; I’m sure there’s significant screenwriting work behind it even despite that, at first glance, the whole overall story is seemingly “already there” for them (in the text of the Odyssey).

>Is he a hack?
Nah Nolan is a great film maker.

His adaptation of the Odyssey was complete and utter garbage though, truly terrible an utter abomination.

The Dark Knight is one of my all time favs, loved Momento, Insomnia, and Inception. I have heard The Prestige, Interstellar, and Oppenheimer are really good as well but I havent seen them yet.

I think Nolan has a great talent for telling very dark stories. They should have him do more dark capeshit, like Spawn or The Maxx.
>>
>>539256758
His brother, who he no longer collaborates with, worked on the scripts for all of those except Insomnia. He didn't write Insomnia either.
Everything else his brother has written has been gold, everything he touches has retarded shit in it.
He has some decent ideas, he came up with the concept for Momento and Inception IIRC, but he definitely needs someone to temper his retardation.

Inception was gay. Nolan is gay. He’s just a technician. Anyone who thinks he’s a good director is gay and retarded.

>is that really a thing.
Yes it is.
Guess who isn’t about to tell all the crack head trance addicts about it though? Go on guess who’s not ever willingly going to talk about THE biggest health scandal since smoking.
*”watching” turns the human brain into mush, physically. Yes this is entirely real. Yes this is what dementia is.
>>
>>539252087
Most of directing today is being a glorified producer and securing everything you need for the film to work. Too much of the creative process is given to actors.
>>
>>539252115
Mods on /pol/ are way more tolerant than they are on /tv/. The average /pol/-poster gets banned only about once per year, whereas the average /v/-poster gets banned ~10 times per year.

>>
>>539252087

>>
>>539257478
Yeah, I noticed mods will bait posters as well. They will let an obviously off topic thread stay up and when it’s got 100 replies ban every Ip that posted.

you mean the people who can't stop saying "chud" like they have tourettes' but exclusively with that one word, that seethe over them, cause they're probably the most idiotic of the "miggers" here, playing "trannies" on /tv/
>>
>>539252087
So his brother wrote the most poignant line in the film, which he didn't understand, meanwhile Nolan was writing zingers like "I'm a big guy for you"
>>

I don't think it says much about your intelligence if you don't understand how mirrors work. Nobody figured out optics on their own. It was taught to them. This is kind of like the Bayesian gold-balls problems that occasionally gets posted. You're not stupid if you answer 50 %; you simply haven't received appropriate education.
>>
>>539257752
supposedly your eyeballs see it all reversed vertically anyway and your brain auto-translates it in real time already, so even if a mirror did that your brain would auto correct, but idk how that was even proven
it doesn't do that for the left/right illusory thing
>>
>>539257752
You're kinda spoiling the joke..
But I'll bite.
> Nobody figured out optics on their own.
As with nearly every other addition to scientific theory and knowledge, it was:
1. collaborative
2. cumulative

It's too bad that her boyfriend could not properly articulate the theory of particle and wave propagation.
>>
>>539257895
No, your brain wouldn't auto-correct for the mirror doing that because you have other things that are oriented the other way for reference and you're only doing it for a short time.
>idk how that was even proven
Someone wore glasses that flipped everything vertically for a while and eventually were able to compensate.
>it doesn't do that for the left/right illusory thing
It's not an illusory thing, it's not flipping left and right, it's flipping things on the z-axis.
>>
>>539252087
Memento, The Prestige and Interstellar are his only good movies. Everything else is dog shit.

>>539258030
Because he's trolling her or emotionally engaging with her(which is illogical but understandable because she is freaking out and he might lose rational seeing such a thing).
>>
>>539258064
>your brain wouldn't auto-correct for the mirror doing that because you have other things that are oriented the other way for reference and you're only doing it for a short time.
w-what
>Someone wore glasses that flipped everything vertically for a while and eventually were able to compensate.
idk my dumbass is thinking they're dissecting an eyeball lens and projecting shit throught it
>it's not flipping left and right, it's flipping things on the z-axis.
yes if you want to be technical but the layman effect is a reversal of left and right and most people don't think or know about the z-axis
>>
>>539258219
I'm actually really cool
>>
>>539258240
>w-what
Let me break it down, there's two things I'm trying to say here:
1) Your brain only compensates for everything being flipped when everything looks like that, not just on a few surfaces
2) Your brain only compensates when everything looks like that for a long time. You wouldn't just be staring into a mirror for days and even if you did, who knows if you would get the same effect just sitting in one room
>>
>>539258228
>Because he's trolling her or emotionally engaging with her
Fair enough criticism.
It's teasing at it's core, and I don't approve for the reasons that you've already articulated.
>>
>>539255498

>not jellysseus

better luck next time
>>
>>539258405
>1) Your brain only compensates for everything being flipped when everything looks like that, not just on a few surfaces
maybe but it reversing the mirror image opposing to that, it would likely create what should be this error where you see yourself upside down in the mirror, but the brain ignores it and just compensates like normal anyway
>2) Your brain only compensates when everything looks like that for a long time.
ok I understand what you're saying, all I'm saying is I'm not even saying it IS compensating for it, all I'm saying is that were it to compensate for it, we'd never know, since it obviously either isn't reversed, or there's a compensation happening
>>
amd I'm remembering now that I've seen upside down shit like videos so either I'm really dumb, or it only happens like that with the mirror because it's a live image of yourself
but even typing that, it sounds dumb
>>
>>539253080
Wait, mirrors don't invert vertically for him? Is he alone in this or...?
They're always upside down for me. It's why they're fucking useless and I hate when people have them everywhere.
>>
>>539258675
how do we know the world isn't upside down if our eyes see it upside down
>>
>>539258657
