On one hand this is generating lots of economic value for El Salvador, part of my report is on how this prison is an economic engine. The cost of running it is nothing compared to the nascent economic activity now possible in El Salvador thanks to the safety provided. Businesses can finally be productive again because they aren't being extorted and threatened by criminal gangs.
