Abstracting an object into a thought and then a word is a process that loses some information with each step. The very sentence I'm writing is deficient in describing what I'm thinking, much less what is. It's pretty stupid to try to make sense of the world using language and conversation. Tl;dr nothing can be "solved" (incl. political issues) because the medium itself is faulty.

The problem is if the audience only knows the figments and shadows of the referent and not the interconnected underpinnings of the referent, then the basis of communication breaks down into a battle of impression versus actuality. The structuralists and post-structuralists completely gave up on the quest for the referent and instead chased the shadows of the impression to its ultimate conclusion. In the minds of the plebs, the shadow and the figment are preferred to the actual particular, and the notion of the universal is a demon that haunts them.
