It only really gets warm two or three weeks out of the year, unlike in Florida where it's consistently warm and humid. That is land where AC is most definitely needed. Not to mention that much of the houses in America are quite literally built to die without AC as in you have to keep it on consistently to prevent mold contamination even when you are on vacation. This is because your houses are quite literally hollow. It is just plywood and dry wall. You get a speedy and affordable construction but at the cost of a shitty build. You can easily construct a central air cooling system but in such a build it would be needed.If you live in Northwestern Europe all you need is a desiccant dehumidifier. I had mine for years and it works great. I would buy a window unit if I had a hung or sliding window for those warm and humid days. It is a pain in the ass to install on our casement windows so I can't be bothered.
