LG stops sending security updates to TVs if you do not consent to them wiretapping your home and sending your and your household's voice recordings to their AI.
And it gets worse. LG's new TV terms quietly turn you into the compliance officer: under section 6(d), it is your "sole responsibility" to get consent from anyone whose voice the set's AI features might capture, and to warn household members and guests, all to satisfy wiretapping and eavesdropping laws.
Those voice services ship enabled by default. If a guest objects, LG's remedy is that you go disable the microphone. And owners of older sets who refuse the new webOS terms stop receiving security patches.

Oh noes, talmudvision now looks and listens back

id rather open it and break microphone camera and all external inputs on the board itself, then I have tv with all perks and they cant get shit, better than throwing it all away. you just need to throw away the spy capable shit.
I think future is you get parts and make your own tv, phone, cyberdeck etc.

why would you even connect your tv to the internet in the first place?
no internet = 100% secure

I have a 10 year old tv with a microphone in it. the tv itself isn't voice operated, there's no need for a microphone other than spying.

This.
Stop trying to watch goyslop through Netflix or whatever built in app and you'll never have to agree to this BS. Plus if you go on AV autist forums they'll tell not to update the TV firmware from the factory because the picture is better out of the box and if you connect to the internet it will update
>>
>>539346750
Never connect your tv to the internet, because they always turn back the brightness with updates, all brands do it.
I have a sony fald tv in my living room who used pretty much blind me at night because it was so bright to the point that i turned it down a lot.
After a few updates even at full brightness the tv is dark as fuck.
Tv brands do this for several reasons, at launch of a new model the reviewers give a higher score for higher brightness, and then after some time scale the brightness down a lot so people buy new tv's.
There are stories out there of people rolling back the software on the tv's they own and gaining back a shitload of peak brightness.

This is perhaps an LED problem. LCD’s don’t have this problem.

Yea. Amazon kindle showed us decades ago you can inexpensively ship permanent anywhere-internet-access with no other recurring fees or links needed. If its getting power, its getting online. Ppl still use jailbroken kindles for free internet hotspots
Pretty sure smart tvs 15 years later got it figured out

i had my android tv from a recycling center
when i got myself an energy meter, out of curiosity i connected the tv to see how much electricity it consumed
i was shocked to find out even having the tv off, android would still run fully and consume around 15 watts 24/7
turns out an android tv is just like a big phone/tablet and turning it off only turns the screen off

so i unplugged it and never plugged it back
i stopped paying my tv loicense m8 around 3 years ago
i don't watch live tv anyway

Look tech fags warned all of you about this shit basically every single week since the 1980s. If you tripped and fell dick first into a botnet in your own home there's nothing anyone can or will do to help you out of it. Should have paid more attention or something.

you have to buy a dumb screen or projector and hook up a mini computer to it running linux and kodi. Install Elementum on Kodi and you can watch pretty much whatever you want for free without spyware

because you want to setup so an older family member can stream movies from your server. Technically it doesn't need to be on the internet though.

that they are not their own branded torrent network ?
