The SAVE act is unconstitutional. Only States can MAKE voter rules. The US Congress can only write laws to override a State's rules if they deny citizens the right to vote. The US Congress can write election rules for federal elections, but cannot interfere in the process of holding elections. 36 States have at the poll ID requirements, and all states require ID for registration. There is no law or Constitutional requirement that people be citizens of the country to vote. The US Congress wrote a law requiring that you had to be a US Citizen to vote in Federal Elections, but historically, all people residing the the US were allowed to vote. Until as recently as 1996, there were no laws requiring citizenship to vote. The SAVE act is a ruse designed to cast doubt on US elections. These arguments about voter ID are a grift, and only rubes fall for it.
