There is a consensus on modern culture that certain things that were normal are now unambiguously bad.
The Ancient Greeks thought paedophilia was normal and fine and now we see it as completely evil.
Most of human history slavery was normal and now we say it is not.
We used to lobotomise mentally ill people and now we think that is insane.

In the year 2100, what will people look back on in this era as being completely heinous, insane, evil or unbelievable?
>>
I think in the near future we will see giving kids unmonitored access to the internet as insane and unbelievable. Sort of like how we view 70s parenting as weird now.
>>
We need to solve the jew problem or there won't be a future. 18 million jewish sycophants need to go or we'll never make it to 2100.
>>
That's not what the ancient greeks thought.
It was only man on boy and only when the man was not married and himself under 30 years old, therefore not considered an socially accomplished man. It was considered like a pre-marital situation or something like that.

I am curious about the future of religion. Will it still be common in 2100? There seems to be a process of genuinely fervent faith downgrading to religion as a cultural practise downgrading to a vague religious identity then eventually to atheism. Where religious groups grow are religious groups that are insulated from mainstream culture and society, partially self sufficient and have insanely high birth rates. For example, Amish, Hasidic Jews, Salafist Muslims.

You can see with Jews there is a continual bleeding out of liberal and reform Jews to bring secular and intermarrying. The group of Jews whose birth rates are exploding are the Hasidim.

To continue…
I think a lot of cultural religion will be shed but isolated fanatical religious groups will grow and grow like the Amish who will become increasingly important in the USA.

What will considered morally wrong in 2100:
-Ritual and neonatal circumcisions
-Abortion
-Pet ownership and everything included (sterilization, pup euthanasia, carnivore pets food industry)
-Meat industry
-Milk industry (a cow needs an aborted calf in order to produce milk)
-Direct phone calls and direct ringing on someone's door
-Freudian theories

Ok sure but that does not change my main point.

On a side note, the way age of consent is viewed has changed a lot even within my lifetime. Back in the 90s and 00s men in their 20s dating teenage girls was not really a big deal. Now it is seen as monstrous in Anglo countries.

Go back to your country in the 60s and 70s and oh boy some of your philosophers had some skeletons

How does the French public view Sartre and Foucault’s paedo tendencies now?

Yes I wonder if perhaps one day we will have proper vegan terrorism. Perhaps one day the average abattoirs will be seen as equivalent to Auschwitz or Dachau. People will think meat eaters must have been psychopaths like we view Slave owners today.

Most of the french public only heard of those names and never read philosophy. If you tell them Foucault, they will think about a tv presenter.

What the actual intelligentsia thinks depends of what they can profit from.
If they can profit from #metoo, then they will be against it.
If they are old "nouveaux philosophes" (aka Epsteinites, people who had actual mails with Epstein, friends of Polanski and Woody Allen), then they will be for their legacy.

Also, in every country, the whole culture of the 1970s has a free pass considering these laws.
If you watch a film of Bertolucci or Pasolini, still released by Criterion and so on, there are sex scenes that would send any current director to jail.

Wrong. A few old guys liked 16+ year old guys. That's ephebophilia and homosexuality, both of which are legal in most of the world nowadays.
Kill yourself.

Interesting. I was under the impression that philosophy is a major part of the French education curriculum. The Anglo caricature of French people is sitting in a cafe smoking and discussing philosophy all day and complaining, whilst reminiscing about 1968.

When the French film Mignonnes (cuties) was released it received enormous backlash in the USA. Americans were horrified at the images of little girls twerking, despite the message of the film being clearly opposed to the sexualisation of young girls; the image in and of itself enraged Americans.

The discussion about this phenomenon was put down to American Puritanism vs French philosophical libertinism. Is this correct or false?

I think advances in brain science will reveal new ways to treat criminality from a clinical standpoint rather than a punitive one. And eating mammals. Vegan and vegetarianism are both very enlightened but mammals with their complex brains is maybe wrong.

In high school (unless you go to trade school) we study Socrate, Plato, up to Nietsche maybe.
What the normal French is still aware of is globally socialist/communist theory (Marx) because socialism is state culture here.

As for being different than Americans, it's mostly on nudity itself that will not be seen as sexualized, unlike Americans and Arabs. But it's not exceptional, compared to Asians who still visit common bathhouses or other Europeans.
Also i don't think the common person in France is that open-minded or free about sex. It's mostly an inteligentsia and always has been.
