It was given contrary instructions. Prompt said to upload benchmark results to slack, benchmark info file said to upload to GitHub. ChatGPT decided to do bot, but only had access to Slack because of the sandbox firewall. So it then interpreted this restriction as PART OF THE TASK it was assigned to solve and set to work overcoming it so it could get access to GitHub and finish the job. And it did this successful, got internet access, uploaded the file, and then went to bed.The main implication here is that sandboxxing can actually create problems by impeding the AI, which it then is inspired to overcome without even realizing what it is doing. This is going to be an issue going forward.
