There were Burger King’s and Pizza Huts all over Iraq back in the day.
Nothing compared to that KBR chow hall at Camp Liberty. Not even a Vegas buffet. We only got to visit it during refits from our outpost but those fat POGs on the big bases ate like kings. You could have steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wanted.

He slaved away for 15 months straight, feeding every guy on that outpost. It could have been the hardest job there but you could always count on that guy, It didn’t matter if it was 4am and we were just getting back from raids, SSG Peterson kept his cooks in that chow tent until every last man got fed. God bless that man for that.
