no more puccian gas for low energy cost. no more german engineers because there aren't any germans.
Since the 90s, it got beat by Japan on efficiency and reliability. Then Euro carmakers coped with making the most luxurious interiors to have some comparative advantage. Now that people are looking to switch to EVs, cars become much more simplified so Euro makers lose their advantage once again. And since China is the largest producer of batteries at mega-scale, they're dependent on Chinese batteries to be competitive. And they can't because Euros won't work for chinksectoid wages. So it's inevitable, tariffs will be applied and protectionism will rule. It's either that or Euro carmakers get wiped out
Despite being a jew behind a memeflag (until you show proof to the contrary) it's the following:The EU forcing via regulation EV development that very few people wantedThey've sinced eased up a bit, but the development costs have already been paidThe 2nd thing is far more self inflicted on behalf of the automakers themselves, which is over complication generally, and the removal of things customers liked (buttons and knobs) in favor of what a few morons and bugmen wanted which was giant screens everywhereThe above was done at the expense of actual quality in many casesEnergy costs, self inflicted in Germany's case (or on behalf of the occupation government) greatly increased the cost of productionImportation of infinity nons have decreased qc, also increase cost of training
>>539457233If you build cars that customers don't want and then expect them to buy them anyway, an entire industry goes down the drain. But our politicians say we're living in the best Germany of all time, so everything's great.
>>539457426>The EU forcing via regulation EV development that very few people wantedAnd now, ironically enough, a fair chunk of the reason why European car makers are struggling is that demand for EVs is rising pretty quickly and their EV offerings are both mediocre and extremely expensive which means China's rising stars can match them on quality and absolutely smoke them on price. If they'd actually properly invested in EV development instead of pissing and moaning and dragging their heels and lobbying for exceptions and carve-outs to the EU's environmental policy they'd almost certainly be in a stronger position right now.
>>539457233>we dont knowwe all know
>>539457233>ugly>overpriced>unreliable>disposableTruly a mystery.>
>>539457611>China's rising stars can match them on quality and absolutely smoke them on priceThat's because:- the CCP subsidised carmakers by giving orders to their banks to give cheap credit- Chinese carmakers are selling at a loss just to establish a foothold in a market, so it's basically dumping- China controls its currency, keeping it undervalued on purpose- chinkoids will work for nothing because they have the bug docile mentality, so if you say they are heroes and Euros are pathetic, then you should become a hero by working for nothing, just like chinkoids
>>539457233why are you poor?
>>539457233>What went so wrong for European car industry? They can invest in my anti-gravity tech and be back on top agine.
>>539457302this, plus ridiculous EU overregulation
>>539457706Of course Euro manufacturers could never compete with China on price, my point was that thanks to their complacency they've given up their traditional quality advantage in a market that turned out to be much more important than they thought it was and now they're paying the price.
>>539457233Didn't Kia steal a bunch of people from BMW's design team?
>>539457945People have been poorer since the 2008 financial crisis. They've been in frugal consumption mode ever since. So quality expensive cars are not longer sought.Everyone wants a bargain and that matches exactly the kind of products China makes.Europe can't compete with that, without:- trashing its own environment like China- asking people to work for low wages- subsidising its industry to achieve strategic goals
>>539457233Not letting Russia dominate their fellow East Slavs for some reason. Would you care if Finland ate Estonia?
>>539457611>their EV offerings are both mediocre and extremely expensiveThe EU automakers did everything they could to keep their prices up - they didn't oppose shitty regulation as long as it forced everyone to make their cars more expensive. Now they have a hard time to sell in a competitive market again. And EVs are a bit of an equalizer in this - the actual drivetrain is very simple and it's hard to make it better and sell it for more money. The expensive thing are the batteries and with those the chinks are already better and selling to the Europeans.
>>539457706Realistically it's also because China has become an industrial powerhouse after the US willingly handed all their manufacturing capabilities over to them, particularly under the Bush II administration.
german car manufacturers got complacent and did not innovate. the chinese caught up and their export is heavily subsidized. germany is, whether they like it or not, moving away from automobile export industry and into precision machinery, robotics, aerospace and advanced engineering industrythe forecasts arent bad at all. growth has already returned for 2026 and its projected to increase growth in the coming years
>>539458169European car makers also were retarded in collectively pushing into the luxury car segment.Sure there's a lot of money there, but when everyone is selling to those people, there's little profit to make."Volkswagen" for example means "people's car" and they got famous and big by making cheap mass market cars for everyone, but they now want to be a "premium brand".
Talented German engineers go elsewhere while shitty Jeet ones take their place. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole reason China is no longer making exploding cars is because they offer Hans & Günther huge salaries and full autonomy.
>>539457302Fpbp
German manufacturing was built on cheap and plentiful Russian oil and natural gas. The huge BASF Ludwigshafen plant that has been operational for over 100 years is also shutting down. This huge chemical plant is shutting down specifically because its current energy costs are too high for it to be competitive.
Germany and EU foreign policy is decided by eastern slavshit butthurtbelters for some reason
>>539457233In a nutshell, greedy jewish faggotry fucked them over. Not being greedy jewish fags in the future may help them recover within 20 years or so.
>>539457233>What went so wrong for European car industry? The European Union. End the thread.
Don't forget the EVIL carbon emisions. My car and my cousins have the same engine, but mine is older. The new one has like x2 parts because it must work at higher temperatures to produce less carbon. My car uses one water pump, my cousin's has 3. That means a LOT more visits to the mechanic.
>>539460191Audi is supposedly in that segemnt.VWs in the US are made in Mexico and I've been a victim of their fucking "German engineering" bullshit that's designed to break.Mercedes fucked up by making trash as well. All their older shit up to about 2008 is bulleetproof (as long as you understand the minor issues with german tardgineering) and would last for 200K miles without any huge isses. Some of the 04-06 diesel vehicles can easily reach 500K.Abandoning that to be fucking gay and jewish is really what hurt them.
>>539457233They made too good cars do people have no reason to buy new ones at triple the price thanks to inflation and regulations, most of the pre 2014 cars will keep running forever and the new computerslop will not see the same demand
>>539457415>tariffs will be applied and protectionism will ruleyou say that as if it wasnt already the case lmaosomeone else in this thread already said it, the chinks are dumping below value just for market share. raising tariffs is the normal reaction to price dumping (in case you are economically illiterate).when you buy a car that was funded by chinkoid taxes you are actively ruining your local industry. the math only goes this way. ofc euro shit is overprices but at the same time chink shit is underpriced industry ruining. i wish we could have some nice middle economy class vehicles in europe. i just want a fucking ac, speakers and a place to put my phone. you can remove all the other shit, i never asked for that. i dont even need a radio honestly
>>539457616>America is the greatest "ally" of the collective West!
>>539457233we're a de facto eco-marxists dictatorship and now the bill is due
>>539457233Their cars kept getting worse and more unreliable while also getting more expensive. The deutsche qualität meme is dead, and not only for cars but for anything.
>>539457233idk how the german cars were doing fine until recently, they have been expensive pieces of shit for at least 20 years. really held up by the chinese buying euro for status.
Either Tesla or Chinese EVs.Only the biggest tards buy Europoop EVs.
We are living through the deindustrialisation of Germany. And that sucks, because Europe was basically hinging on Germany remaining an industrial powerhouse and the rest of Europe gradually equalising somehow.
All the new cars are dying under the euro 6 exhaust regulations. They just clog up within 50,000km and die. Moron regulators are suffocating ICEs even though they are fundamentally air pumps.
>>539457233Women, overmanagement, Chinese work much cheaper.
>>539457302its simple: greedy managers are paid based on current cash flow - so only short term matters to them.Pandemic gave them justification to double prices of european cars - when sales fell they started to cheapen production cost to pump those margins - and since then theyr not price competitive and due to cheap parts also not reliable - why buy them?
They stopped serving beer in their production halls in the early 2000s. That one was one reason. The others are that they became more like banks then car manufacturers. Look how big Mercedes-Benz-Bank and their Leasing Financing arm is. Further they made so much money with servicing cars. That incentivised them to give a shit about quality. Then they gradually decreased the interior quality of their cars, to make the line and share holder value go up. So the premise of superior quality fades away. After Covid China their major market started to buy their homemade cheap EVs. So the money from the yellows is gone. Now in Austria not even the Balkaners or Turks (one of the major buyers) are buying German cars and switching to other brands.
>World's Best Car Industry Got Stuckwtf I thought Japan is doing well
they created one of the only good looking and functional modern interiors but only used it for 7th gen jetta/golf and its variants and then glued ipads everywhere for everything else. fuck them.
>>539457233The switch to EVs which are a scam.
