It has an all-celebrity cast who were payed millions of dollars each even for roles that are only a few minutes of screentime. They rented an open sea-approved viking ship and had to train the actors to sail it, which was a logistical and insurance nightmare.Basically the entire movie is a bloated and expensive piece of performance art where all of the expense is for off-screen vanity and you're not going to see any benefit on the screen.
