BRRRRT is short for "Bolstering Recognition, Resurgence, Retention, and Remembrance of the Thunderbolt"https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2026/07/22/the-brrrrt-act-would-keep-more-warthogs-flying-and-force-the-air-force-to-reverse-course/
>WE HAVE TO KEEP THE USELESS AIRPLANE BECAUSE IT MAKES A FUNNY MEME SOUND
>>539473553>A-10>WorthlessBro there is no better close ground support Fighter-bomber in the world. If you need to call in a close quarters anti tank barage to bust an armore spear head there is no other plane that can get that job done
>>539473553It would be great if we ever decided to take out the Mexican cartels
>>539473438>BRRRRT acthad to click to double check if it's not some Onion like sitekudos to the guy coming up with that acronym
>>539473438How many years do those air frames have left?
>>539473438The A-10 is obsolete, it needs to be replaced. I propose a new plane that is even larger, and fitted with a 50mm cannon.
>>539473438>>539473553>>539474006...just make new ones? What's wrong with making the A-11 Thunderbolt, keeping all the best design features but make them with better parts and a fresh frame?
>>539473889Video of an A10 giving close ground support to glorious American troops that got stuck in Iran after their planes got shot down.
>>539473438Yes yes, use the antiques.
>>539474006They've had their service life extended to 2055 iirc.
>>539473438Such a cool aircraft
>>539473553At this point, the US doesnt really know how warfare works anymore. GWOT really fucked up the MIC and the Military mentally.
>>539473953Acronyms are peak midwit. Can't wait for the iq curve to flatten
>>539473553>A-10>Worthlesslollmao
>>539474172Because everyone knows that it'll be grifted, delayed and jeeted to death.
>>539473438Just make them into UAV problem sovled.
>>539474466That'll be 350 million plus tip.
>>539473438>I like Sherman tanks>we should keep sherman tanks in operation by passing a law>people in the year 2026 still wonder why the fuck the "iron coffin" bill was passed
>>539474466I think the gun has too much recoil for a UAV, would tear it apart and make it do a backflip
>>539474576this is literally why the trump class battleships exist
>>539474456Oh, right, we're not allowed to have new inventions anymore. The stagnation/failure arc in full swing, as usual
>>539474257Considering that our oldest flying KC-135 airframe is from fucking 1957 I'd say yeah some planes are a solved problem, and for CAS something tough that we already own like an A-10 is preferable to heaping yet another mission on the flying combination oven-microwave-television-hairdryer-jump jet-fighter plane-EWA-fuck robot F-35 platform that it will be pretty good but not great at for only 3x the price of keeping an A-10 flying
>>539474633I choose to interpret resignation in your post. I wish I had better news for you.
>>539474579I believe what they're suggesting is go put a Predator brain and radio stack in the cockpit instead of a meat dude. Keep flying the plane, but remotely. Actually that's a great idea for CAS which puts pilots in much more danger. If you deem the A/C as reusable but attritable for certain mission profiles it lets you do epic shit on demand.
>>539473438https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uvAyxlmpBdkCheck out the armored attack crop duster
>>539473889Against anyone with modern, competent AD it is worthless. You miggers have a romantic image of it because you've only used it against literal peasants. Iran has already shot one down.
>>539474863Exactly.
>>539473438If anything it should be properly mothballed and kept in a near ready state in case a technical upgrade can make it relivant in a modern combat airspace just like we should have with the OV-10 fleet. The truth is most of its mission could be performed more effectively by newer dedicated aircraft. An broader AC-130 fleet would provide better close air support. Especially if it were a mix of conventional gunships and rapid dragon type precision ordinance delivery platforms. Supplemented with things like the Mohave drone. The "brrrrt" is cool, but not as effective as people think it is. Things like the hatchet precision munition are most likely the air support of the future. I know it's not as fun or cool, but it's far more efficient and consistent.
>>539474662Sorry breh
>>539473438If they can keep te B-52s flying, they can keep the Warthogs flying.
>>539473889The problem is that we don't see it as something that will be particularly useful in our current and upcoming conflicts. Enemies with plenty of anti air assets, drones, drones, and more drones. The warthog is purpose built for obliterating sand people whose best anti air assets are rusty RPGs. We don't really use it without air supremacy and in the coming near peer conflicts we simply won't have it.
>>539473889Once upon a time. They are defenseless against modern air defenses. They only kicked ass in Iraq because they had no air defense. The US military is always 20 years behind because thats how long it takes for something to get done in the Pentagon. They only started drone evasion training last year in US milary basic training. So they cunts like Gen Milley saw the drone war unfold in ukraine for 3 years before they thought hmmmm, maybe somebody should tell the troops. The levels of incompitence border on treason
>>539474172Defense contractors will drag it out 20 years and beg for an extra 200 billion dollars to do it. Our MIC is a bunch of welfare queens.
>>539473553>uselessretarded niggerit's an indispancible aircraft for any low threat/coin conflict. best jet for csar and cas. very cheap and relieble.
>>539476210>AC-130BIG slow target
>>539473953A catchy meme-name will surely convince the Goyim to support another Jewish war to bankrupt America and murder Goyim!
>>539473438Why is there a 2nd gatling gun under the wing? Why is the landing gear down?Couldn't they have just used an actual pic of an A10 instead of using AI slop for literally everything?
>>539476729This made sense when defense contractors were American companies that employed multiple generations of Americans. Now, they're global companies staffed by Jeets and with allegiance only to the Jews who run them, that wave the American flag only when they can bribe more tax dollars from blackmailed politicians.
>>539473438Ready and Rnot Rerarted
>>539473553yeah they kept it in service for 50 years because its totally useless. fucking moron
>>539477047It's been in service that long because you've never dared to fight wars against anyone outside of the 3rd world.
>>539477177ThisOnce upon a time those giant Russian helicopters owned the skies of Afganistan. Then the CIA gave thier pet muslim terrorists Stinger missles and the entire war changed overnight.
>>539477177and they should keep it that way and keep the pig too.
>>539475560ALL jets are vulnerable to modern, competent AD, which is why everyone does gay standoff munitions from a gorllion miles away. The A10 is great for killing niggers without AD so it will always be more useful than some hangar queen that will fall apart if it gets hit by a pigeon feather.
>>539473553We can't innovate anymore. Every piece of tech we make gets progressively worse.
>>539474317Just like everything else the military is run by boomers who can't comprehend the latest technology, i.e, drones.
>>539477853not all things need to be replaced or "improved" just because they're old
>>539476735>>539473889A helicopter does its job better and is easier to get in the air and can loiter for longer.
>>539473553the A-10 is a fucking beast you moron
>>539473889It's slow and big.
>>539477725>ALL jets are vulnerable to modern, competent AD, which is why everyone does gay standoff munitions from a gorllion miles away.Yeah even the usual hypemen considered picrel to be a retarded idea because muh supersonic just kind of iteratively got worse.Nowadays the conversation is about making rockets that can seek out the radar signature so you can actually get in not outrunning detection or response. It's also not something you can (easily) bring to a UAV because while the signal is obviously fast enough antenna orientation at those speeds gets wonky.>Just use AIEven if a local model were possible to make powerful enough nobody would do it because they rely on AI being a subscription service.
>>539473438Memes were a mistake. We have to go back
>>539478224against people without the ability to shoot them down. every year its easier and easier to shoot them down with very cheap drones that outmaneuver them.
>>539478172one hellfire costs are much as six 500 lbs guided bombs. a helicopters can't cary as much muniotion as a-10. they're more vulnerable to the ground fire than a jet aircraft is.
>>539473889>close air supportNigga, Iran showed you can make it unsafe for over-the-horizon stealth planes to get in effective range, with an AA truck that look out of Temu. There is no point being the best at a task if you never get the opportunity to do the task. The BRRRRRT machine is now only good against actually unarmed civilians, anything third world has now a non-null chance to rape it.
>>539473553Is there a better summation of the contard military cargo cult?
The what
>>539476699Actually, they got their ass kicked in Desert Storm and got pulled from their missions in favor of multiroles and Varks. The A-10 was like a pre-dreadnought battleship laid down in 1905. Obsolete on arrival.
>>539473889>Bro there is no better close ground support Fighter-bomber in the worldCy-25, "bro"
>>539479507clown
>A-10Midwit here, isn't the A-10 the plane the army wants and the airforce hates or do I have it backwards?
>>539479830no, that's right
>>539479830Army plane. Its just a flying machine gun with depleted urainium that can cut through armor. No special tricks. Today a drone can do the job at 1/10000ths of the cost.
>>539476980Boeing defense is a completely different company, retard.
>>539477725do you ever see russia using frogfoots to launch long range munitions? No? Its almost like subsonic twin engines are absolutely fucking useless in a modern battlefield. shooting and scooting is infinitely harder when youre a flying bus that was designed to blow up sandniggers with 50 iq
>>539476645>We don't really use it without air supremacy and in the coming near peer conflicts we simply won't have it.they're going to keep it to use against you
>>539480476thats the only thing I could actually see it being used for kek
In 1970s main threat to high-flying aircraft was missiles and main threat to low-flying aircraft was gunfire. So A-10 was designed to fly low and absorb gunfire and not worry about missiles.50 years later, and missiles are lethal to aircraft at all altitudes. So A-10 is no longer survivable on a modern battlefield.
>>539473553Yes. Where do I vote in favor of keeping the fun noise plane?
>operators: USAFZog doesnt like this jet they can't use it to bomb targets that can't shoot back. But that being said, the primary weapon is an autocannon which zog also doesn't have the logistics for. Much easier for US MIC to sell them missiles and missile carrying systems.
>...
first battleships now "muh warthog", just accept technology changes and your favorite toys are now obsoleteit is ironic, because we saw technology change so rapidly in ww2 going from biplanes to nukes, yet now apparently adapting to technological change is antiquated thinking, because everything was samey samey from the 1960s through to the 2010s, but no actually things are picking up again with drones and AI and the technology AI will discover
>>539473553Kek
>>539473889The close attack role is completely obsolete. The US needs a JDAM/Cruise missiles carrier
>>539473889Thats great and all, but we're in the 21st century now
Why not the cringe act?
>>539482125There are places that look almost exactly like this in the desert shithole I live in. Yuppies will pay like $500 a night to stay in that place.
The Warthog is one bad butt ground attack aircraft
>>539473889The A-10 is a sitting duck for air defenses, any retard with a manpad can shoot one down, they are really only useful if you have total air dominance. Even a decades old MiG-29 would turn it into a flying coffin
>>539477981If you think we aren't developing the latest tech while pushing out news like this then you havn't been paying attention.
Realistically? Its necessary but stupidThe USA has no other effective close air support platformIt's debatable if in a peer conflict such a platform is even viableIn the typical war the USA has waged this century the A10 is too expensive per flying hour What the USA needs to be doing is evaluating if they could field such a tool in a conflict with say China or Russia. Someone with actual AA capabilityAnd if not then determine what they need to deal with the typical militia the USA has fought (and lost) against elsewhere in the worldThe main reason for that is they don't make A10s anymore and the equipment/facilities to make them are gone. Each of those airframes has had its life extended again and againThey are all past the point of being even remotely safe to flyA replacement is needed but what that replacement is and needs to be has not even been asked.
>>539473438I'm sure some meal team six larper faggots in this thread will outline exactly why our combat readiness depends keeping this 90 year old shitbox flying. The truth is that its to give MIGAniggers welfare money. This is a huge political thing for Tucson, AZ (and several other towns with Air Force bases). Liberals don't understand because they didn't grow up in some flyover shithole where the local economy is completely dependent on a military base. Its basically just welfare except chuds hate welfare. If you just mail them a check, they will start shitting pissing and farting themselves into a coma seething about communism or something. They need to be given pointless jobs that destroy the environment to protect their fragile self-esteem.
>>539482638Meanwhile Russia can make a motorcycle with 80 parts. This war is being won by artillery and glidebombs.NATO's combined national debt is 60 trillion dollars and skyrocketing. The EU has negative growth. The plan is to give everyone jobs making bombs to drop on Russia while having no real army to defend themselves. Its suicide.
>>539477047USAF would have retired it in 90's, because it was obsolete, but certain Arizona senator threw a fit because planes maintenance contractors were locals. After 9/11 it turned out into least bad COIN platform in USAF inventory, there were better platforms around for that shit like super tucano, but it wouldn't have generated enough post retirement cashing out options for staff officers. Now drones are clearly a mature enough technology for the job in reality.
>>539484071Also worth pointing out that USAF didn't want to operate anything that used props unless it was a cargo planeZoom zoom sexy jets and all that
>>539473889Wasn't most if the heavy lifting in the Iraq war done by F16s, while the a10 was mostly busy turning coalition troops into mincemeat in friendly fire incidents or missing their targets completely, hitting friendly troops instead.>B-but muh maverick missilesThe hornets and F16 carried those too, while being in general much more useful than the A10.
>>539486044Nah the A10 performed pretty well in Afghan and Iraq once Iraqs limited AA capability was stripped awayThey were cheaper and unlike other things could do multiple passes or hit targets for a lot cheaper than F16s thanks to the famous gunTurns out a gun designed for strafing soviet tank columns is pretty good at shredding light vehicles or most buildings even if you'd be retarded to send it against a tank these daysThere were plenty of friendly fire incidents thoughAmericans aren't known for being bright or good at communication
