Everyone who switches over to SteamOS (Arch Linux), is amazed how much faster and smoother it runs and how much less bizarre bloat and resource waste there is compared to Windows. Pic related is the Arch Linux dev team.
>Not one Indian.

Why haven't you left Indiaville yet (Windows) and moved to a white operating system like Arch Linux? You can't even use gaming as an excuse anymore, just get the SteamOS version.

Great point saar. We should all do the needful and stick to Windows, definitely don't start eliminating all Indian influence from our lives.
>>
>>539475438
It's pretty easy, just format an external drive with Fat32 so Linux can read from it later, then backup all your files there. Then follow the steps hear to create a boot drive and install SteamOS. I've been testing it out doing some benchmarking, literally everything works substantially better than Windows and I have not yet found a game in my library that doesn't work, in fact they all run substantially better as if I doubled all my hardware specs. Everywhere you can just "feel" the lack of Indian involvement in it, it's like being back on XP. Crazy how good at fucking shit up Indians are.

Why so much padding
I see people do that all the time but I don't get it.
I'd change the arch icon to be white desu. I do enjoy minimalism, what browser is that?
>>
>>539476040
>fully jeeted windows is just a ticking timebom
Yup, every week they manage to break the functionality of something that was working fine since the 90's. The amount of spying is ridiculous as well, about 50 Indians back at Microsoft HQ monitoring your every click at any moment, plus all the government agencies Microsoft created back doors data pipelines for. It's time to take Windows behind the barn and put a bullet in its brain.

I consider this a plus, honestly. You should never allow kernel level anticheat on your machine in the first place. Taking that option away is like putting the cookies on a shelf too high for me to reach: annoying because I want cookies, still better for me in the long run.

sounds promising based on your ad thread
i've got a couple of questions though before i install:
1.) how many months of manually copy pasting google AI code hotfixes do i have to invest to even make this piece of garbage run?
2.) how many decades will the devs consciously ignore to implement those (more or less easy to look up but always tedious to manually implement) fixes into the latest version before abandoning the project entirely
3.) which one of the two games that support this niche product runs over 10 fps
4.) how many rogue devs implemented malicious code into the kernel
5.) which windows version do you recommend i dual boot since all linux users do it
6.) since there is no big vision for this project but instead several independent coders just doing their own work on this as a hobby, when can we expect each of them give up since this is going nowhere and everywhere at once
7.) when does my hormone therapy start, before or after downloading

ventoy is pretty nice if you want to easily try several linux livecd's. when you create usb stick with that you can just copy .iso files there and boot menu will allow you to choose which one you want to run, when booting from that stick.

I spent just shy of a decade on different Ubuntu based distros and switched to Arch based 2 years ago. I feel like a fucking idiot now for wasting so much time in Ubuntu. Arch really is king, even if the representatives of their userbase are insufferable. Cachy slaps

>>539475104
I was like 17 trying to save my dying laptop. I had fully wiped and reinstalled windows and it still ran abysmally slow due to all the bloated updates over the years. I threw Linux on it and this multiple year old basic consumer grade laptop ran better and snappier than it did when it was brand new. It blew me away and I've been at the very least dabbling in Linux ever since. I used to just use Linux for laptops and windows on the desktop, but I eventually switched over the desktop too as gaming became viable.

I love Linux. It being the key to the shackles of Microsoft is an enormous blessing. Genuinely improved my life
>>
>>539474813
>Why haven't you left Indiaville yet (Windows) and moved to a white operating system like Arch Linux?
been on Linux Mint since Windows8, Windows is no longer user-centric, it is not a 'personal' computer anymore, Linux is the only user-centric OS. The legacy Windows glitches that have never been fixed for 30 years just amaze me, like browsing large folders on USB drives, it is just impossible and drives me nuts. Clearly jeetware has hosed Windows all to shit.
>>
>>539474813
Do I need to be a computer scientist to use it, like Linux or is it an easy install with plug and play for most things. I couldn't get Linux to work almost twenty years ago and now I know even less about pc's having been out of the loop for years.
>>
>>539480087
it's still like that, except with more tranny and more smugness
>>
>>539480087
depends on distro. you should just try and see for yourself. but do expect to use terminal.
>>
>>539475030
main pc uses mint
my diy steam console uses bazzite tho
>>
>>539480087
Was easy, yeah took less than 30 minutes and that was with me stopping in the middle to go have a cigarette. Didn't have to do anything in terminal, no scripts or anything, everything work right out of the box just following the steps here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/65B4-2AA3-5F37-4227

If you want everything already installed out of the box you could always just get a Steam Machine.
