Depends on your background and ambitions in life and what colleges are available to you. For most people, the trades are a better option but if you’re from an upper middle class or higher family, can get into a top college, and intend to enter a proper career like medicine, law, engineering, banking, or the like rather than generic sort of office functionary symbol analysis then college is a better bet. Young people need to understand that white collar success is more about playing the right games and making the right connections, unlike in the trades where success is much more straightforward. Personally, I would basically look back and say “can I get into a top tier school” if the answer is no, I’d go trades, try to quickly move into higher ticket sales relative to my field and then entrepreneurship and acquisitions. The end goal for a high ambition tradie is owning multiple cash flowing businesses with a real estate portfolio. You’ll never be in the lawyer-banker-doctor-politician aristocracy but you’re basically local gentry at that point. Exceptions exist but they’re wildly rare. No, you’re not going to make a billion day trading a stock portfolio without a college degree ya know?
>>539476294>start a business without being educated
>>539477277Yeah, i thought this too. What skills does the guy have to run a business?
>>539477161IQ has nothing to do with success in college or white collar careers anymore. There’s definitely a floor and it’s probably about 90 or 95. Above that, being smarter doesn’t help you. It’s a combination of discipline, ass kissing, and being a compliant little worker bee. You literally cannot advance a career in America anymore without being a black woman so don’t even bother trying. If you get a job as a lawyer or a financial analyst or whatever you will get stuck at the bottom rung and be bossed around by a black female supervisor. That’s why everyone either way needs to be analyzing self employment, entrepreneurship, and investing opportunities. They’re the only ways up in this clown world for young people.
Depends. If you goal is money than professional degrees (engineering, medicine) will get you the most without having to work alot of overtime. Trades will get you in the job market faster, but it's more physical and you'll like have longer hours. Unemployable degrees (arts, some business admin) are never worth your time. There's also dipmolas in things I would call in-between trades and professional: something like X-ray tech as an example; the pay will be good and you don't have to destroy your body.

>>539477277>>539477347I don’t know why people don’t understand this but owning a business is literally about having the legal designation of owner and managing a P&L. Skills are for labor. As an owner, you’re generally not labor. Imagine a bar owner for an example is their job to be the master mixologist behind the bar or is their job to make sure revenue exceeds expenses? It’s the latter. Neither experience nor degrees are hard requirements to own a business. Skills are, but specifically skills like sales, financial management, procuring investments/loans, stuff like that.

>>539476222NEETs. jobs are for AI.
>>539477510theres that fag talk again
>>539477399If you account for time discounted labor and debt plus interest at the averages, then they actually don’t. Tradies lose only to bankers, investors, software engineers, managers, executives, entrepreneurs, and sales personnel. And the thing about being a tradie is you could always transition to 5 of those with no additional degrees needed. The trades are the single highest opportunity career field that exists but so many people that enter them are lazy retards so they don’t know this. The upside in being a tradie turned commercial trade services rollup investor is so high that the world’s most profitable investment funds are all trying to do it. Tradies don’t because they blow all their money on weekend beers and pickup trucks instead of doing research. So they end up working or selling to PE rather than becoming PE.
>>539477510>just magic up the ability to manage and lead peopleYouve never done it either have you?
>>539477707I have actually and do right now, but there’s only one way to learn and you won’t learn it in college.
>>539477752It's not easy, where exactly does he get the expertise to manage specialists?
>>539477510>>539477707Think about it retards. Half of all the profitable companies in this country are owned by private equity. They are literally told what to do by some 20-something or 30-something associate that has never worked in their industry or managed people. How are they successful at it then? It’s because they understand sales and finance which is most of what an owner needs. The owner of a successful autobody shop doesn’t need to know shit about cars. He needs people working for him that know about cars.
>>539477863By doing it. There are no experience barriers to entrepreneurship and the sort of supervisory required working within a company doesn’t transfer to entrepreneurship. If I go and buy a business right now with no experience supervising or doing that work, it literally does not matter as long as I can still generate revenue and manage a P&L. I will acquire those people managing skills with time.
>>539477891You got some proof to back up your claims?
>>539477388>self employment, entrepreneurship, and investing opportunitiesit's fine to try that but like 99% of those ventures fail, cool if you get lucky and succeed but most people won't and need something to fall back on

>>539476222Both
>>539476222Strength and Vitality
>>539477953Proof of what exactly? That PE owns companies? What do you think they do?>>539477960I’m not saying success is guaranteed. All I’m saying is all the alpha lies where there’re more risk, but that doesn’t mean shit for skills or experience. Skills and experience are valuable for labor. As an owner the only that matters is your financial statements. Skills and experience only matter in so far as they produce those good outcomes and those skills and experiences are generally specific ones that are different than what’s valuable for your labor.
>>539477985Not really. If you plan to acquire all you need is enough for the collateral on the SBA loan to buy the business and if you plan to start you own all you need is enough for the collateral on the loan to acquire your essential equipment and initial payroll. This is why at the end of the day positive cash flow is literally all that matters.
>>539478145And if you fail they take everything you wver worked for.
>>539478259If the business is failing you just sell it with the assets, recoup probably most of the loan, and then the rest is paid back in repayment plans, offer in compromise, wiped away in bankruptcy, or it’s litigated away. There’s risk involved, but as much as people think. And look, I’m not saying everyone should do this. I’m saying that’s where big opportunity lies. Of course there’s risk involved, but if you ever want to make real, big money that’s just what it is. There’s risk if you buy a house because you’re taking on debt. There’s risk in most things with big payoffs. And hell, nobody is making you get a loan. If you want to go be a tradie, and build slowly by running your own side work debt free, you’re free to do that. The ceiling is just lower and the time horizon to high net worth much further.

>>539476222Checked. Both to be competent. Good mentor is essential.
Let me put it like this. I wish I knew at 18 that real financial success comes not by leveraging some set of skills and experience and working like a dog to get the most from your labor but by positioning yourself appropriately relative to the financial statements. Yes, software engineers can make a lot of money. You know who makes way more money and works a lot less? The owners and the enterprise sales people. You know why? Because one sits at the top of the P&L and the other owns the P&L. This is how compensation actually comes to people. Skills, experience, education, these things only differentiate you from other operating expenses. For revenue generation and financial statement ownership, they’re don’t matter a lick. So if you’re worried about college, skills, experiences, this career or that career, you’re fighting to be king of the wagies when where you really want to be is king of profit generators. Tradies, of all the careers out there, have the simplest, most straightforward path to that. You bust your ass for a decade or two and along the way you look for opportunities in sales, acquiring, or founding. White collar workers have to worry about other shit like fundraising, licensing, partner agreements, DEI, stupid shit and even if they’re successful you know what they’re probably going to end up doing? Buying up trade businesses. So it’s really very simple

>>539476222Neither. Never get a job or have aspirations of any kind. Just sit in your room and play video games all day. Never create, only consume and destroy.
