Jewish people were in control of vaudeville and musical theatre before Hollywood got its big start. The film camera was practically invented for Jewish film directors to make movies.
Notice that one of the first great propaganda films was Battleship Potemkin, directed by Sergei Eisenstein.
The first sound film ever made, The Jazz Man, had a Jewish screenplay writer (Alfred A. Cohn) and a Jewish star (Al Jolson).
