No, they were obliterated during the liberation of Manchuria with a devastating 70:1 casualty ratio in our favour. For every Russian soldier 70 Japanese were killed or taken prisoner. 70 to 1 is humiliation no matter what excuse you use to justify it. Especially since it was over in less than two weeks. No other nation ever suffered such an embarrassing defeat, that was Zulu tier and practically showed that Japanese were no real fighters anymore - Westernization killed their spirit. All the decent victories they scored in and around the XXth century were scummy in one way or another. Attacking a country's unguarded backyard, invading small Korea and massacring it, declaring war against war-torn China and that sneaky move in Pearl Harbour. All would have been regarded as shameful moves prior to Westernization. But they have no shame anymore, so that will run off them like water off a raincoat.
