>>539520313ah, humanity, forever taking action in the name of MUH BABIES, only to *this*
>>539520178I already know this but I was 49 when I found out. Turned out most of my family knew and had been keep it from me. We all look enough alike that it wasn't obvious that I was only a half sibling. My biological father tried a couple of times to get the court to order a paternity test but they said there wasn't enough evidence to compel one. Normally they only do that if the father is trying to evade detection, not assume responsibility already taken on by another. Crazy part is a girl I was dating in our 20s has now turned out to be a distant cousin. Far too distant to matter but still one of those things that makes you wonder how often false paternity ends up with a secondary effect of people closely related fucking.
>>539520313They didn’t teach me this in school>>539520927Dang man. Sounds like you handled it well though. If I found out that my old folks weren’t really mine it would answer a lot of questions as to why they appeared to hate me for no reason.

>>539521472In all seriousness, I have a friend I've known for the past 30 years that while not switched at birth, he was adopted and knew it. Great adoptive family- father is a doctor, mother supportive, but he'd always say he never felt like he belonged at the adoptive family reunions. His biological sister reached out to him a few years back and he found out that most of his blood family are just like him. He likes skydiving, motorcycles, martial arts and he discovered that his blood kin were martial artists, motorcycle lovers, and a few had sky diving certs.Your lineage indeed decides your future. A man with surname Smith might be a good blacksmith.
>>539521588How does that jive with 23andMe and forensics using mitochondrial DNA to solve crimes? Oh right , laws for thee not for me.Maybe though we'll get a heartwarming story about a serial killer in France who discovers he is just like his father or some shit.France is gayer than fuck for even passing such a law in the face of tech that is decades old now
>>53952183023andMe and other direct-to-consumer recreational DNA tests are illegal in France.
>>539520178I am a clone of my father and uncle. There is no doubt about me.
>>539522554Your mom was probably a virgin. Children take on characteristics of all their mother's sexual partners from their seminal fluid. My wife was a virgin and my daughter is the girl me.
>>539520178So sad.
