We're paying them with taxpayer money anyway, so instead of doing dumb shit like "paying farmers not to grow corn", just have the government run the farms directly, grow shit, pay them like state employees in a nonprofit capacity (meaning that farmers get a decent wage and state benefits and don't have to rely on illegal labor) and any profits that the farms produce then go to funding the government in place of taxes.
