It should have never grown so much in places whos income does not depend on labor, basically all the countries that just sell natural resources could be rich if they only had smaller populations. This includes Argentina, if they only had the population needed to run their farms and ranches, plus a bit more to man the bakeries, teachers for the farm worker's kids, etc, they would be just fine.
