With a gas burner, yiu get lower fuel pressure, no high pressure injection, no turbos/boost issues, no particulate filter, no lift pump, no injection pump, easier to cool and far lighter. Better rpm range, better cold starts, All around they are just simpler, less points of failure, easier and cheaper to repair by a factor of about 10. Unless you need a tow and serious low rpm torque- the gas burner is just better for an all purpose application.
