Because they have more than one party with each dedicating themselves to the argument. You will have Christians vs pagans/atheists generate 300+ replies in an hour or so and then start over again and again. A Christian or a pagan general, however, would never live past a few posts because neither group is interested in actually discussing their beliefs, they just want to fight others'. Same with Nazism and Communism - neither would feel comfortable in their own generals, because they do not want to discuss their ideologies, that is not why they come here.It is a bit trickier when it comes to Jews, Indians, Trannies, Muslims etc. - there are hardly any of them here, so /pol/ needs to invent them, which is what it does. And then proceeds to fight them until it exhausts itself and moves to something new. It is also a very convenient kind of enemy because you can always engage in a catch-22 kind of logic, claiming that whoever denies being the boogeyman of the season is actually it because only said enemy would ever do so.
