On July 24 the EU granted a US request to delay Copernicus (Sentinel-1 & Sentinel-2) satellite image (already degraded to low-res) release over the Gulf to limit visibility of damage in the US bases for OSINT.

https://english.alarabiya.net/News/middle-east/2026/07/24/eu-grants-us-request-to-delay-satellite-images-release

During the 2026 Iran war, US commercial satellite firms (e.g., Planet Labs) imposed delays/blackouts on high-res imagery of ME conflict zones, often at US govt request, officially: to hinder adversary targeting, unofficially: to hide scale of destruction.

European Copernicus Sentinel-2 optical and Sentinel-1 SAR data remain key free tools for damage proxy mapping (e.g., via Bellingcat tools), but quality/resolution has been degraded or delayed in areas like the Red Sea/Gulf, reducing real-time OSINT visibility of strikes on US bases.

This shifts transparency backward, complicating independent verification of Iranian damage claims (hundreds structures hit/destroyed already) vs official US reports describing the war on Iran as a success/victory.

>Amerimutt terrorists are heavily censoring their own losses and airdefense failures while making evidently false claims about losses on the opposing side

How does this even matter if Iran is allegedly getting Chinese satellite intelligence?
>>
>>539588424
It matters for the dollar. The less world knows about US defeats, and the more about US victories, the bigger faith in dollar
>>
>>539588424
It's not about helping iran, it's about hiding the losses from (you)

Thats why the stated reason is obviously false. Iranians aren't using google maps for targeting. Its to give a few days window to sweep the place and throw up some cardboard walls

it makes sense.
china wasn't even trying to feign neutrality in how they revealed western assets in the area until they had access cut.
>>

chinese satellites aren't as high resolution generally.
they have the gaofen satellites which do sub-metre resolution
western satellites have published capability of ~30cm res.
>>
>>539590303
China is rapidly closing the gap. Gaofen-7 and Jilin-1 Gaofen offer 0.5 m resolution.

MizarVision owns literally zero satellites. It feeds imagery from all available satellites : Western, Chinese, Russian etc. They do only AI refining and AI description. It is a tiny startup hiring few people

BTW, just found out that China has already launched 20 cm resolution satellites recently. Jilin-1 Gaofen 05B (Nov 2024) - 20 cm, surpassing 30 cm.
