Nolan was smart and in one sense based. Hiring ellen the detranser was a gesture of kindness to someone absolutely messed up who has worked with him before. She's useless but the character is fairly pointless and minor. Helen hardly matters in the Odyssey, which is a story about men. Nolan doesnt even let women lend feminine charm to Circe or the Sirens. Least inclusive Odyssey ever made. Odysseus going his own way. The foids deserve it. He used these two stunt castings to bait the media into giving him free publicity.
