I first encountered word transgender on tumblr in 2012, which I think must have been at least two or three years before the average normie did.At that time the concept barely existed. It had been percolating on LiveJournal for a couple years before that, and before that there were creepy middle-aged guys on Yahoo! Answers talking about how good it felt to wear panties. That being said, t must have existed in the academy before it made its way online, because at Occupy in 2011 I saw a couple old guys in dresses and then in 2012 I met a "genderqueer" girl in night school who was taking a gap year in her uni studies and had "discovered" in her first year majoring in poli-sci that she was genderfluid.When I started uni in 2014, all my humanities profs talked about gender even when the class had nothing to do with politics. In psych 101 I was taught that gender, gender roles and sex were distinct. Trans was pushed very hard and the messaging was always from above, from faculty and from the student union.Fast-forward 8 or 9 years and pronoun pins and gender studies in elementary schools were already normalized. Zoomers seem to accept the basic assumptions underlying troondom as basic common sense even if they're against trooning. I've even heard a zoomer say in person that "transphobes" don't understand "basic biology" which is as hilarious as it is terrifying.Do zoomers know how quickly the trans movement was astroturfed? It happened in less than a decade. Do they even know it was astroturfed? What are you taught in school about how trans started and how long it's been around?
