I'm sure there are a ton of genocides forgotten by history. Plus, Chinese history especially stretches back so far there's no way an average Chinese person could remember it all. I'm actually pretty interested in Chinese culture and history and most of my Chinese friends/coworkers actually didn't seem to care about it at all. My old boss from Hong Kong had never even heard of Lao Zi haha
