Things were much more nuanced, there was a lot less shills, bots, glowies and leftist discord troons.We didn't thread split, because we could actually have a civilised (by 4chan standards atleast) dialogue. The first problem was one of relevance. After the Trump "meme magic" this place became ground zero for glowies and ((special interests)). They realised a bunch of autists may have swung an election and became concerned about our influence. The second problem was one of convenience. It was around that time people started getting banned, or entire swathes of sites (eg subreddits) got deleted. All the refugees flooded in with no class or understanding about how things happened here.The third problem was just timing. The first two problems coupled with a big uptick in the third world joining the internet, meant we've been in permanent summer, with newfags becoming the norm, normies becoming the standard.There was a time when people would do newfag shit or brag about normie stuff and they'd be bullied into shutting up. Forced to lurk until they could fit in. Now you are lucky to have a single reply calling them a newfag or telling them to shut the fuck up. It's never coming back. Maybe one day this place will become irrelevant again and we'll get a return to form, but I dont see it happening. Unfortunately there's not many places I can anonymously say what I want and most of the chans that were supposed to fill the void are too slow, so I'll stay. Ive been here too long and gotten too old to find somewhere else to go. Oh well. I know some of you guys are still here, the brothers that I had so much fun with.
