Benadryl isn't a pain reliever, retard. It's an antihistamine. Some people take massive doses of benadryl recreationally, but no doctor will ever give that to you because it's toxic at those doses. It's over the counter. So those who take it recreationally just go buy a 200 count bottle of store brand diphenhydramine for $5.On the other hand she asked for dilaudid. Dilaudid is an actual opioid pain killer, and it is the most recreational I've ever done. The rush is better than heroin, oxycodone, morphine, hydrocodone, you name it. The doctor has no problem with that.Opioids cause a mild allergic reaction in my patients. They make me itchy. Benadryl counteracts this. It also increases sedation, and unlike most drugs that do this, it doesn't depress respiration. I don't know anything about sickle cell pain, but the doctor seems to think dilaudid is appropriate for it. That means it hurts like hell. Increasing sedation is not really unethical here.This whole story makes no sense. Why pick a fight over benadryl? Nobody is going to come behind you and second guess the benadryl. It's the dilaudid that's going to set off alarms. The doctor is retarded. You I understand not knowing shit about shit.
