Bitchute set up their company in the UK. Which means that as a legal entity they have to comply with UK law. Which means if someone reports a video for "hateful" content or "misinformation" or similar, they have to remove it or at least geo block it. For a while at least, when it flew under the radar it had a good run, but it was eventualyl brought to heel legally by the UK government (and its Jewish masters).>OdyseeIt had potential, the idea was good in theory. But its biggest and most limiting factor was that it it's a jeet that's running it and he doesn't really know what the fuck he's doing. He had big ambitions but I think technically and just intellectually he can't deliver on the things he wants and the actual viewers want. Look at how he fucked up the Stripe payments situation. He preemptively removed Stripe like a sperg. That was always a large weakness in how he set up the platform, that all payments had to go through his stripe merchant account. If the idea is that you want people to be able to run their own "nodes" and go the decrentalised route that you could've had a solution where you had a different entity that converted the crypto tokens into money. Similar to how people cash out Bitcoin or Ethereum or whatever. That's a lot harder to shut down, especially if you could get things like exchange support for the crypto. Last point, I actually had a look at the codebase, and it's very stagnant and the docs and so on are broken/very out of date. So I'm not just speculating when I say the jeet bit off more than he could chew here. Anyone can just fork a project and promise the world. It takes technical knowhow to even just maintain your fork and keep it up to date let alone promise lots of new features.If anyone is thinking of starting their own platform, set up an LLC in the US and make the most of the second amendment or at least a state that actually recognises it.
