>>539664276It's just another way for wealthy people to show how much more restraint and intelligence and discernment they have. Poor people need to own a lot of "stuff" just to survive and save money.

>>539664276The commercial push towards minimalism IS simply a response to deteriorating economic conditions. It portrays owning less, living in smaller spaces, and having less land as aspirational values. In reality it's because the modern consoomer can afford much less, so they are simply appealing to people's class ego. If they realized they're poorer than previous generations then they'd get mad, so they buy into the cope that having less somehow means having more. But minimalism that isn't commercial is not inherently bad. Some people's lives are cluttered and could use cleaning up. I love having all my counters and tables and shit clear, everything put away out of sight, etc. I throw out old clothes and stuff I haven't used in a year or so instead of hoarding it. Because having a clear space with fewer things to manage or get in the way makes me feel better.
>>539664276>>539664926That was Rust's home as an incel reddit atheist. By the end of the show he accepts Christ and gets a gf. So his home was definitely upgraded with love, faith, and abundance after the series end.
>>539664276no, its an insanely peaceful life. you need to worry about less.
There's minimalism and then there's having nothing, they are not the same.
>>539664276>buy all the slop goyNo thanks
>>539664276Men should be fulfilled by doing meaningful work in the world, that's what built all that is good and what maintains it. Caring about superficial things that only exist to fill some empty void inside of you is why so much of this world is falling into ruin.
For rust it was a choice. I love it for his character he was a nihilist sure and simply rejected the modern world in a way. But it plays to his purpose. You think about the what it was that he was trying to accomplish and the why. He believes that what he does has purpose and doesn't need to have things or want things in order to fulfill this purpose.Absolutely annoying character but I also love that too. Fuck this was a great series, but only the first. I'll also so this however. People shouldn't have to expect to live like this. It is completely normal to want things and fill your homes with memories and all that.
