For me it is a matter of spirit and ideal, of history and culture. Something that one does not simply witness but feels deep within their heart and soul. There are those who would try to tell you it’s not that, the very idea of a nation especially a nation like the U.S. is nothing and has none of the things I listed. But those people either are utterly ignorant or malevolent actors who wish to push their vile agendas due to a loathing which they have for the nation or because they serve semitic interests and would rather people replace national identity and a feeling of love for one’s home with empty hedonism and consumption.

Nationalism started around the time of Napolean. The idea was to smash up all internal divisions within the country, and produce one big national culture. With internal divisions solved, the country can now project power outwards and gain a ferocious military strength.Nationalism always, inevitably, worships the army. Talks about battlelfield victories. Strength, might...etc. Because that's all nationalism has, that's what it's all about. It's totally empty, hollow, soulless.The appalachians have a real rooted culture. It springs up from the land itself. The old west had a real culture that people hearken to. The Northeast in old parts has it. These cultures are what humans love building, it's community-oriented style of living in tribal bliss. This is exactly what the nation focuses on destroying the hardest, and replacing it with and empty soulless marching army.Nationalism is a shade better than globalism, but it's still not the answer. I don't have respect for the flag, because I think nations are inherently bankrupt. We want to return to the tribe.
