I would happily pay a higher mortgage rate for like 10 years if it was on a property that was valued exponentially cheaper, the 17% is nothing if the property value is just a fraction of what it cost today.And you're paying at the lower property price before the exponential expansion in the currency supply. So compare this with a kid that's born in the 2000s and has to go to college or just work in the city. They will have to pay that inflated rent price. When wages haven't been keeping up. Etc. The boomer is oblivious to this. if they're still paying their mortgage it's at that lower value, and not even close to rent. Most boomers haven't rented for years the only ones that do are ones that have been divorced raped. So the idiots can keep an idea in their head that their rotting McMansion is worth millions while if they were to get a mortgage it's "manageable" and "cheaper than rent" and they apply this to someone who was born 30-40, even 50 years after them. Thinking you can just get on a bus and go to work and try to live and start a family on 45k, oblivious to the current economy.
